In October 2017, Sonoma County was hit by devastating fires that destroyed homes, businesses, schools and thousands of acres of open space.  Schools all over were either evacuated and closed or were burned to the ground.  Students and teachers lost everything.  This was the opportunity for SCHOOL WORX to leap into action.  We purchased 200 backpacks and put the call out to the people of Marin County that we needed help filling these bags.  In a matter of days, our donation bins were overflowing with crayons, markers, notebooks, pens and pencils, gift cards and cash.  The backpacks were filled and gifted to the many students who fled their homes with only the clothes on their backs.  These backpacks represented a sense of normalcy to those children as they returned to school in the following weeks.
